The Joy of Partnerships

The joy of Partnerships

In listening to Robert Morris from gateway church, I have come to understand what it means to have a partnership with God. All throughout the Bible we find that God wants us to partner with Him to create and understand our purpose in this life and the next one. In many ways, God wants to partner with us to give us the best He has to offer. Submitting to Jesus first allows us to see bits and pieces of God’s divine plan for our lives.

As most of our friends and family know, Jen and I have taken on a new journey in our lives. This is the season to partner with God.

We both have had struggles and difficulties but the God we serve, who created heaven and earth, is faithful through it all. It is so amazing to step back and watch His greatness in action. I have had to learn to live on less, love more, trust in Him more than ever and become a house husband (while starting on the partnership God has called me into). Friends and family know me well enough to say, “he’s a hard worker”, “he will make it”, “he’s strong”. Though those are all good to have said at the right time, although it is hard to imagine that through my submission to God, He has been everyone of those attributes in my life. Partnering with Him wasn’t at all what I thought of partnering. The definition itself tells us a partnership is “a formal arrangement by two or more parties to manage and operate a business and share its profits”. God has done all those things already. In our submission we allow Him full control over His creation (Mankind). God doesn’t need us, “God is a Spirit, infinite, eternal, and unchangeable in his being, wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness, and truth,” but He wants to partner with us.

We have to stop living in the fear of stepping out of the boat, and start living in the resurrecting partnership to walk out on the waters, not worrying if we will sink. Go in head first and watch God perform beyond your wildest dreams.
